Online Privacy Statement for Customers at First Foundation

First Foundation is committed to protecting your privacy when you use our Online Banking Services. We understand and respect that your privacy is important to you, and First Foundation is dedicated to protecting it. The First Foundation Online Privacy Statement explains how we comply with all information security and privacy laws focused on financial controls over client information and identity protection.

All online customers and site visitors are consenting to the terms of this Statement.

This policy is intended for residents of the United States and its territories. If you are not a resident of the United States or its territories, your information may be transferred or processed outside of your home country, including in the United States and its territories.

We are committed to treating and using our clients’ information responsibly, and protecting the privacy of our online customers and site visitors. First Foundation complies with all information security and privacy laws focused on financial controls over client information and identity protection.

  • We only disclose and share client information online as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
  • We never sell client information.
  • We have implemented significant physical and electronic security features to prevent unauthorized access to client information.
  • We limit employee access to customer information.
  • We conduct regular reviews of our computer systems and all security features.
  • We conduct regular vendor security due diligence to ensure that our vendors protect customer information in accordance with our security policies and standards.

Our Online Privacy Statement describes how we may collect, use and share information you provide when you visit our website, receive our emails or interact with our third-party websites.

 

What Information Do We Collect?

First Foundation collects two types of online information: non-personal and personal.

Non-Personal Information

When you visit the First Foundation site or use our Online Banking services, we gather information such as the type of internet browser you are using, the operating system of your device, your IP address, and other information collected through cookies.

Personal Information

In addition to the information described in the previous section, we may also gather personal information that you provide to us such as your name, address, email, Social Security or tax identification number, birth date, and mother’s maiden name.

Collecting this personal information enables us to offer you online services to assist with your financial needs. For example, we collect personal information when you are enrolling in Online Banking Services.

Your information is also shared with third parties, such as a bill payment service provider, in order to provide such service to you. You can refer to the terms and conditions for your account(s) or service(s) to learn how your information is collected and used.

We may collect information regarding your mobile device such as device settings, unique device identifiers, information about your location and analytical information. For your convenience, you may be asked to grant permission for access to your mobile device's geolocation data. This information may be collected when you use certain services that are dependent on your mobile device’s location (such as the location of an ATM or in store transactions).

The personal information you provide online is held by the First Foundation business that maintains your account or is processing your application for a new product or service. You can access and/or change information in connection with your account or application by contacting your banker.

Security

We take the responsibility of protecting your sensitive information very seriously. We use physical, technical, and procedural safeguards that comply with legal and regulatory expectations to secure your information from unauthorized access and use, alteration, and destruction. How Do We Use the Information We Collect?

First Foundation uses the information we collect about and from you to manage our business. The information we collect allows us to:

  • Recognize you when you return to our site
  • Process applications and transactions
  • Respond to your requests
  • To assist with diagnostics and performance

We may also use personal information we have about you such as your email or postal address to deliver notices, newsletters and advertisements to you directly.

 

Can You Control Your Information That's Collected and Used Online?

You have the ability to control how your non-personal information is collected and used online.

 

Cookies and other Local Shared Objects

A cookie is a small data file that can be placed on your hard drive when you visit certain websites. It can collect, store, and sometimes track information. Cookies are commonly used on websites and do not harm your system. Your internet browser may have settings and preferences which allow you to block the use of cookies and other Local Shared Objects from being placed on your computer. Refer to your browser settings for details. First Foundation’s website does not place cookies and other browser related objects on your computer.

 

Email

When you provide your email address to First Foundation, we may use it to send you general notices or important news about your account(s), respond to your requests, request your feedback or opinions, or provide updates on special deals and offers that might be of interest to you.

Please do not include personal account information (account number, social security numbers, etc.) or other confidential information in your email message. In addition, email messages will not serve as a sufficient method for any requirement imposed on you to provide written notice, nor may email messages be used to place a stop payment on a check, cancel a bill payment, request account transfers, or report lost or stolen banking codes and/or cards.

We believe you should be able to choose the kinds of information you receive via email. If you prefer not to receive marketing materials by email, you may choose to ‘opt-out’ on the contact information for your account(s). You can also contact First Foundation to ‘opt-out’ at (888) 489-0188. Please keep in mind that we will continue to notify and respond to you by email regarding your account(s).

 

California Do Not Track Disclosure

There are no current standards for how “Do Not Track” consumer browser settings should work on commercial websites; therefore, we do not respond or take any action with respect to the “do not track” configuration set on your browser.

 

Updates to this Privacy Statement

From time to time, we may change this Online Privacy Statement. As indicated below, the effective date of this statement shows the last time it was revised or materially changed. Checking the effective date allows you to determine whether there have been any changes since the last time you reviewed the statement. Your use of the site following changes to this statement means that you accept the revised statement.

First Foundation Online Services are intended for customers and visitors in the United States. When we process personal data and information and personally identifying information in the United States, we follow United States data protection and privacy regulations.

 

Applicable Website Governance

The webpage, as well as all other webpages associated with First Foundation, is controlled and operated from the United States and are not intended to subject First Foundation to the laws or jurisdiction of any state, country, or territory other than those of the United States. When First Foundation processes personal data and personally identifying information in the United States, we follow United States data protection and privacy regulations.
