What to Expect on April 1, 2026 — and What Comes Later
We’re excited that the merger of First Foundation Bank with and into Sunflower Bank, N.A. was successfully completed on April 1, 2026. In addition, First Foundation Advisors is now a wholly owned subsidiary of FirstSun Capital Bancorp, Sunflower Bank’s parent holding company.
Together, we bring you enhanced, relationship-focused financial solutions, including personal banking, commercial and specialty banking, private wealth management, investment management, and mortgage lending.
We’re committed to providing the same high level of personalized service, accessibility, and responsiveness you’ve come to expect from First Foundation.
Sunflower Bank was founded over 130 years ago and has grown into a full-service financial institution with deep roots in the communities we serve. We’re proud of our successful legacy and the solid foundation it provides for the future.
We will continue to operate under the First Foundation name and logo until our system migrations are complete.
For now, there’s nothing that customers need to do. Please continue to use your accounts as you normally do. We will provide detailed information on any changes and action steps well in advance. In the meantime, please check the FAQs on this page for additional information.

On April 1, 2026, First Foundation Bank merged with and into Sunflower Bank, N.A. As a result, First Foundation Bank is now part of Sunflower Bank, a national banking association. Additionally, First Foundation Advisors is now a wholly owned subsidiary of FirstSun Capital Bancorp, the parent holding company of Sunflower Bank.

Until our system migrations are complete, you’ll continue to see the First Foundation name and logo, along with “Sunflower Bank, N.A. dba First Foundation Bank” on some materials. This wording reflects the early stages of our alignment until we fully transition to FirstSun and Sunflower Bank names and brands. During the transition period:
– Deposit and loan products and services are being provided by Sunflower Bank, N.A. dba First Foundation Bank.
– Trust services are being provided by Sunflower Bank, N.A. dba First Foundation Bank.
– First Foundation Advisors continues as an SEC-Registered Investment Advisor. -

Nothing is changing right now. First Foundation locations continue to operate as usual. First Foundation accounts, cards, checks, relationship teams, and locations remain the same. Please continue all your usual financial activities, just as you do today. The First Foundation website, www.FirstFoundationInc.com, will remain your main website for account access and information.
Sunflower Bank, N.A. is the name of the combined bank. Until our system migrations are complete, you’ll still see the First Foundation name and logo and the message “Sunflower Bank, N.A. dba First Foundation Bank.” This means your First Foundation Bank consumer and business accounts and services are now being provided by Sunflower Bank.
There are currently no anticipated impacts to accounts at First Foundation Advisors.

No action is needed. Just keep banking the same way you always do. If we ever need you to take any steps later in the year, we’ll give you plenty of advance notice.

Yes — please continue making your loan payments just as you do today. Nothing changes about your payment schedule, how you pay, or where your payments go on April 1. If any updates are needed later in the year, we’ll communicate clearly and early.

Not yet. You’ll continue using the same mobile app and online banking platform you use today. Any digital enhancements will come closer to the end of third quarter 2026.

Absolutely. Your cards and checks will continue working just as they do today — no replacements are required right now.

Yes! Your payroll, Social Security deposits, automatic payments, transfers, and bill pay will all continue without any disruption or required updates.

Yes — absolutely! Your deposits will continue to be fully insured by the FDIC up to standard coverage limits. First Foundation Bank and Sunflower Bank, N.A. are now one bank for the purposes of calculating limits on deposit insurance.

In April 2026 primary customers listed on consumer, business, trust and advisory accounts will be mailed welcome letters. These letters include important information for customers, an overview of the services of our combined bank, and an FAQ. These letters included instructions to continue using your First Foundation accounts as you normally do.
If you ever want to confirm that a message from us is legitimate, don’t hesitate to reach out. Your local branch or our customer care team are here to help. We will never ask for your password, PIN, or one‑time passcodes.

We are committed to a smooth transition for all of our customers. System migration and conversion planning is already underway.
Timing of these transitions is dependent on which First Foundation accounts and services you use today. We currently anticipate most system changes to be completed by the end of third quarter 2026.
We will provide you with detailed information and clear instructions well in advance.

No changes are required to trust documents. Trust services will be provided by Sunflower Bank, N.A. dba First Foundation Bank. The new combined firm will continue to serve as your trustee.

We’ll keep things simple and clear! Primary customers on accounts will receive important updates by mail, followed by ongoing updates on the First Foundation website as we move closer to system conversion. Please contact us to update your mailing address to help ensure receipt of mailed notifications.
Remember, we’ll never call, email, or text you asking for personal information, login credentials, or computer access. If you receive an unusual request by phone, text, or email, claiming to be First Foundation or Sunflower Bank, don’t respond. Call us immediately at 888.405.4332 to report the experience.
